What teenage boys do is largely governed by peer pressure. Getting all lovey-dovey with girls probably isn't considered cool. Not that I would know what's cool with schoolkids now, I haven't been to school in 15 years.

It might be several things, like 'group activities' with their male friends, just trying to get a reaction out of you, and might just think you're hot and don't care if you see them watching you. Doesn't have to mean they actually like you in that way.
