How do you keep long distance relationships alive?

You can't. LDRs are doomed to fail.

Look, you can learn some things by being in one but you have to go in knowing it's gonna fail.

People always underestimate the importance of physical contact and they underestimate the value of time apart, so they wind up over-communicating to the point their non relationship life suffers and they've nothing new to say to each other.

I personally find it difficult. But as what I've seen from people I know, communication, make time for each other, and planning.. and love is the foundation to make it work.

you just have to try to do the best you can. Keep communicating, try to visit as often as possible, keep the mindset that somebody loves you and you are in a relationship. Keep believing that someday you will be together.

It is difficult. We crave touch. We love touch. Some key aspects of relationship are not there in ldr. Hence we starve. Please get someone near by within 15 minutes drive.
