If you are religius, how would you react knowing your girlfriend is an atheist?

personally, I would have known this before making her my girlfriend. Then I would have explained to her that she is religious too and her choice to not believe is indeed her religion. We would not have been boyfriend or girlfriend.

Based on the religious people that I know, they wouldn't have a boy/girlfriend who was an atheist. In fact, their circles wouldn't even include one. Not because they were exclusionary or something, it's just that all the religious people I know interact and date in the same small pool of folks from their church.

I also don't think someone (me or in general) is going to get to the stage where the label is "girlfriend" and that person is an atheist and I'm religious.

But, just for discussion's sake, let's say I am and she is and she tells me. Knowing me as I do, I'm still going to love her and try to convert her. Knowing the people I choose, she'll still love me and try to convert me. It'll be fun.

We are all religious in one way or another. Atheism is most commonly packaged with pedestalizing authority and money. Seriously. Imagine what a caveman would think if you tried to explain to him the legal system. They'd call it a world wide religion.

I don't mind dating an atheist because an atheist asking this question is obviously looking for the truth, knowing that mainstream religious cults don't offer the full truth. I do too, even though I don't label myself an atheist. Despite having different labels, after some discussing we will find out we do share one same religion. Our religion is seeking the truth. Truth is provable so there is no need for blind belief. How does that sound?
