Should I forgive a friend of 9 years who threw her cell phone at me in anger whilst drunk?

We where arguing she was drunk and getting argumentative I was trying to get her to realise she can vent later and she has to finish her food so we can go home and I said I felt she was blaming others for her problems she taken offence got mad and threw her phone at me. She has apologised to me today and said she’s real sorry but I’m not sure to forgive

Why would you even consider ending a 9-year friendship just because your drunk friend did something stupid? That's not being a friend, and the fact that you ask this question means that she might be better off without you.

I mean one year ago I threw a phone at a different friend I had known since childhood when I was drunk and she was sober and she physically attacked me after it never spoken to me again for that and said it was assault. So I guess I taken throwing things at people as an extreme thing because I have been there and suffered the consequences of unforgiveness

I would personally yeah. I know how it feels to get drunk and make mistakes. Being drunk leads to things you wouldn’t do sober. I punched a hole through a window and smashed it once out of being drunk. I guess everyone has probably been in a drunk fight or argument.

You should forgive. Yes. But doesn’t mean you can’t distance yourself as well as pursue criminal charges for assault.

One time my buddy Jeff was drunk and he tried to throw a snowball at nothing. I was sitting beside him and somehow he hit me in the face with the snowball at close range.

He was so drunk that I don't even think he knew what happened and he staggered off home.

I didn't hold it against him, I still had a good night, lol.

When someone is drunk they not by their true senses, so my advice is don't make yourself sick about past situationz
