Does anyone believe that someone can actually fall in love with a person that they have never met in person? Or could it just be they have fallen in love with an idea of being with that person? I guess I’m old school on you don’t truly know someone unless you meet them in person.

Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? Not even in the slightest. I would never get into online dating, much less a relationship that is pretty much developed on the internet. In order to "fall in love" there has to be a lot of time spent together in my opinion.

I met my husband in person. It took a while of dating and really getting to know each other before I could say that I was in love. We spent time figuring each other out and if we would be a good match longterm.

I think that the likelihood of developing a strong connection purely online is very slim. There are exceptions to any rule, but it would take two very similar people that could sustain that sort of thing online before meeting and finding out everything they thought it would be was true.

You tend to learn a whole lot about a person when you are sitting across from them. All their little quirks. Those are the things that you factor in when deciding if he/she is someone you can spend the rest of your life with (or at least potentially).
