it’s mostly my friends at school that call the boy I’m talking to “ugly” or other names like that and invalidate my feelings even though they will go behind my back and follow him on insta, what should I do in this situation?

I pretty much stopped talking to my friends about who I’m dating a long time ago, and maybe you should too. Of course they know if I’m in a relationship, but I don’t vent to them, ask their opinions on what he looks like or any of that, because what’s the point? No one else but me needs to find him attractive, especially when they’re like your friends and say he’s not cute yet go behind your back and add him on social media, that’s so shady. You don’t need their support or validation because it’s not their relationship and if you vent anything negative that happens they will gain a negative view of him, making any interactions with you all together feel awkward and judge-y. So just trust yourself to navigate the relationship and your ability to leave if it’s not a good situation.
