I, myself will never trust anyone ever again 💯, this is my own personal preference and it saves me from being completely disappointed in the long run.
If they let me down, then at least I was not 💯 invested in the thought that I could trust them with ANYTHING. Because this then adds on an added burden, that I was stupid for doing so..
Having said that, it doesn't mean that there aren't people whom I do trust, but I think it is foolish to trust anyone, no matter how much they mean to you, or how reliable they are, with "your life" - so to speak?

At the firehouse you trust your brothers and sisters that they will have your 6 and you will have theirs. Our lives can depend on it.
As an officer they have to trust my decisions, and I have to trust that they will carry out my commands so that everyone goes home.
Fire scenes are very dynamic, and things can go bad quickly so if you see something that they don't see you have to trust them that they will do what you tell them to do, and they have to trust you to see what is happening and to make those calls.
