545 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It's ok to trust different people in your life with deep details about only one category in your life because that's the category you know they'll understand based on their experience, etc. For example, I can't share my work stuff with every single person I trust, right? Not everyone would get it. Then, just because I trust someone doesn't mean that they get to know confidential details about other people in my life. It doesn't mean I don't trust them, it's just that there are boudnaries of empathy and honesty in place that make me a reilable and trustworthy individual at work, at home, etc.
On average, I'd say I trust all the people I allow into my life very deeply (95%) in the specific categories that I know them to be experts in. And I work with a lot of different people, so I'd say… a few hundred have my 95% bona fide trust. These are people who share a mutual trust with me.
Catty people, etc. etc., of course don't have my trust because they're negative, whiny and toxic. I don't give toxic people time or attention.10 Reply

+1 yI was surprised to find out who stuck by and supported and who went silent during a heavy loss to the family. Not the people I assumed, and people I never thought of did. You see a persons true colors during tragedy.

I agree. This is very true. I have experienced a similar scenario.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI trust people who are willing to share confidential information with me that they know would damage them if I turned on them (which I won’t). I trust those people more to open up with my issues because is would be mutually assured destruction if they turned on me.
Sadly I don’t trust my own family that much particularly my own mother. She’s obsessed with her image. She was more worried about how I made her look vs what was best for my own happiness growing up. She’s also the type who never fights fair when she doesn’t get her way. So I trust her with little because I regretted trusting her with a lot when I was younger.

u +1 ya lot...
but is not like I just openly and entirely trust everyone the same to the 100%
I know who I can trust, and with what... and, the majority of the people in my life, are honest (enough) people for me to honestly trust them to a point
if you meant to ask, how many I do trust "100%" then that's less people... very few actually, because this trust implies great responsibility as well, and it is also 100% mutual
so, perhaps... 10 people in my life I can honestly trust and trust them this much too20 Reply

My husband.
My mom/ my dad; my sister.
they’re not 100% trustworthy 100% of the time, but I do honestly trust them.
It’s either them or no one.
I don’t 100% trust them 100% of the time. Not them and not anyone else.

That said, there are people who I feel extend to me a position that I am greatful for and I am glad that they reflect that is a position they intend to keep.10 Reply12.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I trust everyone, until there is a reason not to.
