You've stated two facts: 1) your "live in boyfriend confessed he masterbates to his ex" and 2) you're "back single".

What you say that's a bad sign for him to do that
Not a bad sign but a shitty thing to do. On the one hand. On the other hand, he confessed. Maybe, just maybe, he's willing to go without.
But you say you're single now... did you break up with him?
I cannot tell what happened here. The boyfriend tells you he masturbates to his ex (very odd to bring up in normal conversation) then, boom, you’re single and a 30 year old? Did it all happen at once?
