Trending & News My parents have been married nearly 45 years which one could consider unconditional love except they've maintained that they fell in love with each other for whatever reasons but if the other person changed in some dramatic way like they found out they had a secret basement full of dead bodies sort of way, they would not stay because that's not the person they at least thought they were married to. I think unconditional love is an illusion and good for a Hallmark card, but it's not reality for 99.9% of people. There is something that can always make someone decide that's too far. This statement also implies that the former provide nothing in a relationship which is far from the truth. The very basis of actually loving someone in a sustained manner is that they are providing something for you that you cannot or do not want from someone else or can't find elsewhere to sustain the two of you being together.
I selected "false", because a quote like this, taken out of context and uttered by a comedian possibly whilst he was on stage, doesn't really tell us much about anything. If he was serious and actually believes this, then I'd ask him why, and to provide examples and evidence, neither of which you have done here, so why should I believe it?
@cassie88 Its from his stand up 20 something years ago so u can watch it if you actually wanted context. Sounds like you don't want to believe it so you're looking for ways to justify. In the stand up he goes on to provide multiple examples of why this is true.
@Vegasrunner "Don't want to believe..." No, no, no. Don't assume that. I don't know the guy, I haven't seen his act (although I've heard of him, and that he was slapped by Will Smith). What I asked for here (context) was reasonable, and I don't think it would have been too much to ask for you to provide that.
@cassie88 If you truly wanted context you would have watched the stand up, if you haven't done that you're not looking for context. This is. Very old saying, the fact that you are just now hearing it highlights how much we shield woman from uncomfortable truths.
@Vegasrunner I don't want to watch his comedy act. Why should I have to? You're the one who came out with this quote, not me, so it's up to you to provide something to back it up with.
"Uncomfortable truths" - Well, no, it's not the truth. If you think it is, then provide the evidence that would support this claim. If you can't (or won't) do that, then put a sock in it!
@cassie88 False the person who created the take came out w/ this quote. There's nothing to "back up" The fact that u are ignorant of an uncomfortable truth is an advantage to me, so there's no incentive in providing you anything. The more u remain ignorant the more I can exploit
Yea but the 80% divorce rate not to mention all the sociological studies done on hypergamy say otherwise... sorry to throw the cold water of life on u but lol
I would say rather false since only kids are loved by unconditionally assuming it´s an emotionally healthy situation but I doubt that women are loved unconditionally by their men since the moment there are arguments in a relationship the so called unconditional love is mutually over pretty quickly. Women are neither loved unconditionally because they too have to provide something to have a guy being faithful and loyal to them.
I can´t talk about dogs since I don´t have pets.
Well unfortunately the 80% divorce rate iniated by woman says your full of💩🤣
very true and that's never gonna change. a lot of romantic love revolves around sexual attraction. nobody can love a spouse they're not sexually attracted to.
the only man a woman loves unconditionally is her son whether he provides any value to her or not.

True or not, the disparity between how men and women view this is interesting st near 100% yes and no respectively at the time of writing.
I think for men a normal coming of age event is when you're in your mid-late teens and realize that the world stopped caring about you. It is both liberating and confusing. While of course it isn't a simple yes or no I fully agree men lack intrinsic value whereas women and children have it.
Of course, dogs are the most lovable of all. Fight me.
I just need one word to prove you wrong: Feminists.
I know how much GAG blues hate them. Me not being among them.
That besides. What about fat women? ugly women? nasty women? old hags or hostile babushkas? women, who never shower? unemployed single mothers, who may or may not be welfare collectors? You think THEY are loved unconditionally?
What about children, who grew up in abusive or toxic families?
What about dogs, who are shot only because they bark at evening?
Of course it's obviously true. Men are never loved for who they are, just kept around for what they can provide and how they make her feel.
I found it really sad to see the results
I dont get how man got to the point of thinking that, sounds just horrible way to live a life
Looks like somebody's never heard of animal shelters and women's shelters.
False, I've been loved without having to provide anything.
They weren't matches for me, so I didn't accept, but it does happen.
Thats the whole its not, woman love opportunisticly, and conditionally.. the moment they"feel" there not receiving those conditions theyll leave... same reason why if a man loses his job, woman end the reelationship at alarming rates... Conversely if a man chooses to love a woman, its literally the closest thing to unconditional or unselfish love cause he doesn't require anything other than you reciprocate that same love back to him...
False, I don't believe in unconditional love at all
Not true because women aren't loved unconditionally either, unless THEY provide something the man wants! LOL
The only thing a man requires in return is that you respect and love him the way he loves you. In fact i can make claim a mans love is the closest thing to unconditional and unselfish love cause he literally needs nothing from a woman to survive in this world...
@Deesnutsnika You can make that claim, but I'm not going too far down that road but will say this: Truly loving someone doesn't require ANYTHING in return. You can easily love someone who doesn't love you back, give you a thing at all, or even despises you. So in that sense you're correct about it being unconditional, but I don't believe that's quite what we're talking about, but rather, romantic love. That does require some positive feedback. I also don't think women can not do the thing you suggest because they don't "love" in the same way a man does, and they want said love expressed in precisely how they want it.
*typo... I also don't think women CAN DO the thing you suggest...
Ofcourse this is true and if you needed more evidence of that there's a reason woman iniate divorces over 80% of time and read the sociological studies done on hypergamy... the truth spittin in ur face and people dont wanna see it lol
False. I do not believe in unconditional love. Child? Even if that child murders your other children? Extreme example, but still a condition.
So Chris Rock is now a philosopher? Was this quote before or after Will Smith smacked him?
False, because i know how girl eyes can look likę while you around.
Seems true in most cases but there is always an exception
"Support women, children, and other people with disabilities..."-a UN charity
More incel brainwashing on display here.
Go tell chris rock he is an incel
