Why do some people find non-straight relationships to be so repulsive? Where do those feelings come from?

My suggestion would be to track down the mod, or admin, who decided to remove the answer, and have them explain why? Considering I know it wasn't me, I know those are the only other ones with power to do so.

I am not repulsed simply because it does not affect my life in any way. If those that wish to have a relationship with the same sex do so, fine by me. It literally has no bearing on my life or personal decisions.

That is their business. I do know a number of gay people and had they not told me, I would have never known they were gay. That is simply because they do not push their lifestyle on me like many like to think that they do.

I noticed the reply from @SueShe and I think what happened is the opinion was removed by a mod. I was informed by an Aussie Uber mod that he started to use ChatGPT for opinions. The mod likely removed it as we are now doing for those that choose to give bot replies instead of genuine feed-back. This is only my guess having not seen said opinion.

For those that see this opinion, if users wanted answers from a bit, they would go ask the bot and not here.

Atavism. Simple disapproval is one thing- I don't agree with it, but it's at least understandable. But the vehemence I see... there's just no reasoning behind it at all. People claim "it's immoral!" who freak out more at the sight of two men holding hands than of someone getting beaten in an alley. They say "it's unnatural!" from behind their glasses. They say "it's making a mockery of marriage!" here in a country where the divorce rate is north of 50% and the Britney Spears-style 24-hour instamarriage barely raises an eyebrow.

It's not logical reasoning, you know that, but it's not even moral reasoning- it's not reasoned at all.

Majority of homophobic people I have met in my life ended up being gay themselves. I think some people can’t accept their sexuality and take their self hatred or anger out on those who are openly gay out of fear of themselves or to try and cover up that they are. For those who are homophobic and straight then they’re just massive assholes who have been brainwashed by a “traditional” views and society. How boring for them.
