It means he does not understand how relationships work and he think it is a Disney fairy tale. He is loving bombing you because he think he knows what he wants. It is not on purpose he is just not a down to earth guy. He is making promises that he is not going to be able to keep. He is getting too far a head of himself.

I am not angry; I get some women that get upset at me when I tell them, and then there was a key detail I don't know. I would tell him to have realistic exceptions and not get ahead of himself. Tell him you expect things not to work out, but we will get through it together.

Arguing in a relationship is good, and it helps form healthy communication. Being honest with each other is helps the relationship. As long as the arguments are not emotional abuse. Just figure out each other and understanding one another should be the goal. if you're incompatible and you have to move on, it's okay you will enjoy the time with each other.
