Why would my best friend/someone super close to me tell me that someone doesn't like me?

It's like they kick me when I'm down.

I feel surprised when they say this. It's happened 3 times now.

No point of examples but just here me out. Even if these people were to use me thats okay. I move on and then they chase back after me.. very weird. Thoughts?
