I'm curious because as a black woman I was recently at the doctors office for cardiology physical, the physical consisted of me running on a treadmill for an extended amount of time, there were two white women who were overseeing me. They seemed pretty friendly but they barraged me with so many questions like how many kids do I have. I told them I have five kids and married and they asked if I planned to have any more kids and I told them no my husband had gotten a vasectomy and so we definitely did not want anymore kids. I also told them I did an hour on the treadmill at home because I work out every day. The women acted surprised. I told them I had to go to work later that day and they were in complete silence after I said that. I'm guessing if the women never questioned me and found out who I am as a person they would've perceived me as a stereotype. I think I go against the grain of what society places on black women. I'm 5'7,123 pounds I dress girly and wear makeup. I know that black women have to be 2x better than other women in everything.
What exactly was the issue here?
Them asking you things is part of their job and being nice. The kids questions? Part of the reason you might do a cardiology exam is related to pregnancy. Its a good item for them to check off.
Most people do not exercise an hour at home everyday. Their surprise could be a kind or impressed sentiment. If you had done so that day they would have to take it into account which is problematic.
And what is the right move to you going right to work after? Its not something most people want to do and now they will again have to consider if you're generally stressed.
Maybe there was something that you didn't convey but nothing in what you said is strange or racially tied. I am confident black women face unique challenges but making your own strawman will never be useful.

What was the big deal with the question they asked?, you tying to stereotype the white women, for asking common questions. My wife and I both had the same test done and they asked my wife the same questions plus other question that we thought were dumb.
To me it would seem the opposite and never spoke to you during the treadmill test that would have been travesty. They were curious about our life as woman, mother and career woman, you should be proud! I try not to overthink or guess what people think, I travel in my own lane with one destination. I think human interaction is great for everyone. I've been questioned by teachers and professors interested in my life, and how I grew up. I am not going to mention their skin color because it doesn't matter, what matters is that people are actually interested in your story. Stay Strong and be in inspiration.
People are gonna stereotype against any race no matter what. Im not gonna go out of my way to impress haters. I’m just me. But im glad you shut them up for a bit

That's hogwash and somebody needs to let slavery go now...
Sadly yes, because of the stereo types of blacks that society has it is surprising when you see blacks working hard, its more common to see the women working harder to better themselves than the men tho. My one black girl friend works her butt off at work and exercise. She desperately wants to get a head and make money. She works harder than I do and has more responsibilities than I. I envy her hard work!
Yes, definitely, it has been shown time and time again..
I don't think so. The only thing I can think of is that black women are more prone to certain illnesses like heart problems and diabetes. Sounds like you're well aware of being physically fit and getting regular checkups though so...
Yeah it’s sad, especially when you get the backhanded ‘compliments’, like, ‘oh, you’re quite intelligent for a black man.’
I don't see how any of what those two "white women" did has anything to do with you being black.
No, you don't have to be 2X better, that's silly. Your view on the world is skewedThat kind of questioning is common and happens to everyone. it has nothing to do with race.
i dont understabd what happened?
Please tell me this is a joke.
