What did previous year teach you and where do you picture yourself 1 year later from now?

Last time in Bali

At 27 I used to picture myself with a white summer dress, long hair, my fiance (who’d be my husband by then) and our future twins hahaha.

However, I am happy to say that I realized even if he came back I wouldn’t like to allow him any space in my life anymore.

Here’s what I learned.

• Whatever stayed in the past, is better to stay that way.
• There’s no need to have a happy ending. Something can be sad and beautiful at the same time and there’s no need to fix it. Sometimes the sadness and pain can be a happy ending too.
• Whoever goes from your life you should let go,
• and the most importantly, everyone always comes back if you truly gave them an unconditional love, like the one that I felt, and when they come back, you should be far, far away from the place where they left. Without any anger or a pain, just with the gratefulness that they once were the part of your adventure and gratefulness and peace for the fact that they’ve left.
  So, here’s where I picture myself next year, I am wearing a green summer dress, I have longer hair and I am by the beach, living and enjoying my life, helping people and sharing my heart and love with the ones who need and appreciate it, no need for them to be my romantic partners, they can be elderly, children, friends, family, dogs, just making sure that the big storage of my love doesn’t go to the wrong direction again.

It’s possible to have a thriving relationship with your significant other while having a strong career at the same time—it’s quite difficult to figure out, and you need to keep trying different things, but it IS possible.


Working a career that is fulfilling is super important for peak performance. I’ve worked 40 hours a week before at a job I didn’t like, and work felt exhausting. Then, I’ve worked at a company and put in 80+ hour weeks, but it was actually less exhausting. Super intense, but not work that I dreaded, it was work I looked forward to.


I’ve learned how to tap into a high performance mindset and mentality. I had an idea about it, a notion, a theory. There have been books I’ve read and podcasts I’ve listened to about successful mindsets and such. It wasn’t until this last year that I really refined and have come to understand how to get into that headspace. Things finally clicked. I’ve cracked the code to high performance for myself and that’s going to change everything for me.


A year from now, I believe I’m going to be in a very good place. I might be a CMO by that point, while traveling the world with my SO. If not CMO yet, I will have made great strides in my career and business. I’m already the CEO’s right hand man after just 7 months with the company.


Eventually, several years from now, I’ll break away to focus on a business I’ll be doing together with my SO. THAT business is going to be in the entertainment space, creating our own anime, programming video games, and maybe even landing a movie deal if it gets big. That’s going to be really fun and exciting. 🙂

The last past year, so many things have changed. I went from going into work for over time and barely taking vacation unless it was near the end of the year to going in for normal hours and having medical appointments all the time.

Having a seizure for the first time at a friend's eightieth birthday party and then having a tumor extracted was weird.

I never thought about my friend Dennis' age, I've known him for so long, he felt like an institution. Go over a few times a month and help him and wife Michelle with household chores, repairs, sometimes even shopping all over the course of seventeen years.

I also never expected to see my mom's side of the family so soon. After my close call on the second seizure, she's been regularly contacting me, being more reliable than she ever was during my childhood. It was nice to see her and my sister after twelve years.

I'm not sure, I don't have any particular thought of what the next year will bring. Probably a few concerts or plays, movies, or some museum or something. Other than that, just more appointments and work.

What I learned the last year?
- It's okay to give up a Job or career path that is no longer serving you
- it's okay to take time for you, to be still griefing even when months and passed and to distance yourself a little socially.
- In that sence it's also okay to not listen to the people close to you cause that alone doesn't mean that you're depressed!
And their negative words towards you, just cause you don't act like they want you to, is not important and you, aka I, shouldn't take it personally

Where do I see myself this year?
- nowhere particularly yet, I'm just doing what makes me happy and I stay away from emotional stress

Last year I felt unworthy in a lot of things. I ended up being treated like shit by my friend and my boyfriend. This year, having ended both relationships quite turbulently, I feel like I won’t let anyone in anymore unless they deserve to be in my life. I no longer feel unworthy and I’ve developed standards for myself.

Well said. Biggest thing I've learned is I need to get out of USA. My life doesn't fit into American culture in any way shape or form. However... I make a lot of money here so I have to buckle down for a few more years but wanna dedicate most moments of my life to self improvement and getting out.

I really don't want to spoil your happy and confident countenance with what I've learned in the last year.

Just take one day, week, month and year at a time, do your best, be fair to others and kind with them too. Yet, don't allow yourself to be a doormat, hold others to be accountable for their issues. It sounds as though you are in good shape. I wish you well for your future!
