There are people who do that. I got a password reset reminder for a long forgotten instagram account recently, after posting a photo on LinkedIn.
Presumably it gets done by hacking/paying hackers or folks who sell info correlated to email address or mobile phone number, so the interested parties can stalk/snoop to their heart's delight.
I never did a thing of the sort, but my fosterpatents were obsessed with such methods, with being the 'judges', they gorged on that as if it was honey, so I know such people exist.
