What is something you found out late in life that you should have known earlier, but didn't?

I learned that sometimes you have to take a dive even if your circumstances are not perfect. I wanted to wait until I was ready to have kids and now I do not even know if I can have as many kids as I want. I wanted to wait until I had time to pursue graduate studies and now its been years and years and I never pursued graduate studies.

How few good women there actually are. I was raised to be respectful of women and that all women were ladies. It took me much longer than it should have to figure out this isn't the case.
