My boyfriend and I have been on a little dry spell in the sex department. He just started a new job and the sexual desire just hasn’t seem to be there, and then I got a severe sunburn so that extended the dry spell.
However, since we’ve been in this dry spell, he has been a lot more affectionate, more than he ever has. He’s more calm, and seems more kinder to me. Usually he liked to slap my butt around the house, now he just hugs me and kisses my forehead.
I’ve asked him about the dry spell before my sunburn, and he just said between work and gaming, he’s just been tired etc.
Is the affection levels rising due to the absence of sex? or is there other situations that would cause this change in character?
I love the increased non sexual affection and have mentioned it to him, but I also miss the sexual aspects too.
Is he going to go back to being less affectionate once the spell is broken? Just want loose opinions or some advice if someone went through something similar.

I hope not, but you could be inadvertently Friend Zoned. I hug my friends, kiss them on the forehead, probably a couple dozen different women. I've no active interest in sleeping with any of them. How long has the dry spell been? There's a couple reasons that could happen. It was a slow build that just finally broke through with the dry spell and gave him an easy way to friend you. He's intimate with someone else, so there's just no need to do it with you when you "can't." Not knowing how long this has gone on it's really hard to say, but I hope it works out for you.
