I have an autistic ex that I dated for more than a year. I had a very turbulent relationship and that makes me wonder if autism had a role to play. He also cheated, and would throw things in rage. Should I have seen it coming?

I am not autistic, but I am married to someone who is. I cannot speak about every nt person, but she gets angry way less often and rarely if ever holds a grudge. I honestly believe everyone is different, regardless of being nt or autistic..
I am sorry to post as a no autistic person, but I felt I could contribute as my wife has aspergers syndrome, and is indeed autistic. I have read a lot about autism and aspergers syndrome, and what I have read doesn't always fit the indiflvidual.. For instance I read that a person with aspergers syndrome doesn't show emotion and generally don't care.. My wife's behavior suggests that's wrong. I had only been dating her for two weeks and my teeth landed me in the hospital, they almost killed me.. She's the only one that visited me, even though she hat do travel 4 hours to do it, she visited me every other day that I was in the hospital (was in for just over a week..)
Good God auto correct sucks.. She is the only one that visited me, even though she had to travel 4 hours to do it.
You're a lucky man. I wish you both have a wonderful life. Such stories really give me hope. ♥️
I'm very lucky, and thank you!!
