My ex is purposely trying to get close to my friends so they can like him. Why is he/people like this?

I don’t think it’s much of making me jealous. I think it’s more of creating bonds. He hasn’t met any of my friends but I think he genuinely wants to get to know them so they can like him but not in a spiteful way. LOL
