If there is sex involved then it’s not a far stretch to say it’s for convenience. Even if there isn’t, I’d still say that this is him just wanting to maintain control. Men are capable of feeling nothing romantic for you and not wanting to be with you, but still not want to see you with someone else. To me that is selfish, and if he wants to be broken up then o would treat him like a my friend. He shouldn’t get the perks of a boyfriend without the title.
