Why would a guy keep in touch with his ex to stay as friends?

I’m the ex and I’ve noticed that he looks for me whenever he gets a chance because side he’s a business man. Today he asked me when can he see me again and he is the same always but a little bit more close to me. He keeps saying that whenever I want I can see him or take me to eat. He’s partner did had a cosmetic surgery and her body looks perfect why would he still look for me if I look like his current partner but before surgery. I mean I understand we’re friends and both business owners in different categories.

Every guy is different so I would ask him what he’s doing if he’s trying to make some sort of advance shut it down immediately. As easy as it is to overthink situations you’re not stupid either and If you feel there is nefarious intentions maybe it’s best to distance yourself.

I don't know I don't hangout with ex's. I have one I am still friends with but that is because we have respect for each other and we only text. Obviously if he gets a new girl we would probably lose contact. The fact that he keeps you around while in a relationship is suspicious and makes me think he is keeping his options open.
