There is nothing wrong with comfort, but I really dislike conspicuous consumerism - people who value showy cars, jewelry, designer shoes, handbags and clothing, and opulence.

I like things that last a long time. As long as something still works, I'm fine with it. I actually prefer things I'm already comfortable with. I don't go out and buy the newest products. For example, I still have an Apple i8 phone and I don't have Blue Ray for my TV.

I don't even judge people who live simply or have low income.

I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with a woman wanting to know how financially stable a guy is who is interested in having a relationship with her, and I tend to respect her more when she asks about this right away, so she can determine whether I'm suitable for her.

In general, yes. Now, there are going to be some types of circumstances where you do have to take income and/or overall finances into consideration, like when someone has a lot of student or credit card debt.

It depends.

Material wealth can be an indicator of things like personality, capability, hobbies, interests etc. So in that regard, no, its not a turn off to judge a person's character by that.

But judging a person soley based on how much money or property they have, or by how much money they spend, is just dumb.

Yes, but it doesn't really bother me that much. Because I'm not seeking anyone's approval. I know who I am. I know my strengths and my weaknesses. I know what my worth is. And thier judgement isn't going to change that.

I don't judge people by their wealth, but I do judge by whether they are able to take care of themselves, and whether they are are contributing to society in some way (doesn't at all need to involve money or jobs).

Did you make that shirt on your back? Did you deliver the food to the grocery store for you to buy? Did you invent electricity? What about your plumbing? Etc.

Agree, no one can take care of themselves but some people try to give back to society in return for what they get from it. Its not about wealth. The person who lives on welfare even though they could work is the same as the person who lives on an giant inheritance - if they aren't spending time doing something for society they are a drain. Similarly the person who picks up trash in the park, or the CEO running a mega-corporation, or the writer, are all doing something that is useful to others

Depends. If they judge, positively or negatively, by the mere possession, then yes. If they judge based upon the actions that person takes with the wealth that is more complex.
