Do you believe that material things should not be associated with social status or prestige?

I think God is showing me through intuition and feelings that whether I am rich or poor, I should keep my income and my job a secret. Just tell people I have a job and work like a normal person, neither too hard, nor too little, without going into detail about how much I make or what I do for a living. Tell people I have enough to live on, but do not say whether I am rich or poor.

It doesn't matter what I think. There's what I'd like there to be and there is what is. And we are a society that is money driven. But it's questions like this that make me quote Tony Stark quoting his father. Who said, "No amount of money ever bought a second of time." Time is the only resource that truly matters. And in every moment you have the power to make a difference in someone's life. Money is just a tool. It cannot make you a better person. This is a failing of humans.

Maybe God is asking you to clarify to yourself the definitions of social status and prestige. To me, they have nothing to do with material things. For example, I don't drive a Mercedes as a status symbol, I drive it because it's an investment in my time. Nor do I think of Mercedes as a prestigious company because of their assets. I think of them by the way they treat me as a customer.

Well you can be very rich in many different ways you can be poor in many different ways..

So those words don't believe the matter if you're wealthy you're wealthy.

But as for material things they come and go. . And they don't really mean anything I've given away more material things because there comes a point in time where you just don't need them anymore. I love to go to thrift stores I love to go to flea markets I love to go to rummage sales I love to go to estate sales and there's been many times where I'll pick up something and I'll have it for a day and I'll run into somebody and they need exactly what I just got to make their life a little bit easier and I'll just hand it to them because it really needs nothing to me I got it because it was a cheap price probably and I got it because I was probably going to do something else with it make something with it or out of it

Like they say you can't take it with you.
But you can take the knowing that you help somebody make their life a little bit easier that is for sure.

I personally don't look at people in a way to see or to judge them about who they are with material things that they have I don't even care really I'm not in that world

Yes, I think so, material things can be useful, but they aren't really that important in spiritual sense.
