Do you think people overestimate the influence of „pretty privilege“ in everyday life?

To me it seems pretty privilege has the become one of the most favorite topics all over the internet. You see women claiming they get treated like royalty by everyone, never disrespected by anyone and being considered smartet etc. by default.

While I believe that attractive people are admired and hugely overrated, I’ve also witnessed them being treated on many occasions as everyone else and some even struggling to make friends despite their looks.

Often times when I look up the profiles of the people claiming they get this kind of princess treatment im not very impressed by their looks. Am i just delisional or do people overestimate the effect their looks have on their social life?

Pretty privilege is definitely a thing, and a very powerful one. I see it litterally every day. It's most prevelant when women are in their teens and 20s, but still exists for some after that. But female privilege in general is a lifelong benefit for women.

Again, the only word in your last sentence that is probematic is "always". Of course pretty women are not always treated perfectly by everyone. But there is no question pretty women are treated better, on average, than others, and it affords them opportunities and garners them better treatment. It's a well studied and proven fact.

It's absolutely overrated. You definitely get a slight leg up in the beginning, but the world is full of people who will see someone else getting ahead and feel the need to knock them down a peg out of spite.
