Let's say you share a car together and you break up. You go round to his place to collect your things and find he has sold the car without your knowledge.

He could say well here's half the money, but wouldn't you have liked the option to buy the car off of him?

I am in no way trying to compare inanimate objects to that of a baby, but I AM trying to explain there is more than one way of looking at things.

@chelsdope0 It's not about having to or not having to. It's about what are your values. If you don't want to tell him then don't. It's a subjective thing. There is not right or wrong answer.

Yes I think you should have a discussion since it is his child too. Just like if you decided to keep it you would force the payments on him. It's only fair.

You have no legal obligation to tell him, which in itself is barbaric. A man should have the legal right to know. But despite the laws, not telling him would be a disgusting thing to do.
