Good question! I have a sister who has done everything she can to stab me in the back for the past 10 years. I have given up on her and excluded her from my life. At this point, I wouldn't cross the street to piss on her if she was on fire. She is a diabetic and 6 years older than me, so I expect to outlive her. I would probably attend her funeral simply to appease others.

Someone who did me wrong died that day for me, I grieved his death and my death with him as well, as a person who I was before I got betrayed.

Betrayal is one of the most painful things a human will ever experience and it’s like closing your eyes and trusting someone woth your life, while they knowingly take you to the abyss.

And betrayal does indeed kill part of you as you’ll never be same. I wouldn’t attend any funerals. “What is dead may never die.”
