In my experience so far I only see couples who aren’t as happy posting each other more…
I think it depends honestly. I think the bottom line is - is you shouldn’t use people posting as a suggestion of them being happy because you just never know. The father going viral that killed his 3 sons in front of his wife posted a picture of his 3 sons days before he did what he did. It’s a clear sign that we all need to just go back to minding our business and not associating pictures with emotions

Huh? When people are not happy with their partner, they don't post them. They want a break from them, a way to escape and imagine a different life (and partner.)
I don't use social media outside of question and answer sites.

I believe this is true. This does not apply to couples only. People who are constantly posting stuff about their lives on social media are often empty inside. I never felt the need to expose my partner or my relationship on social media. I don't hide my relationship from anyone but I also don't feel the need to expose us on social media. My relationship is too precious for me.
I've found the opposite in my 20s. People won't post somebody they aren't a hell yes on because their family already knows their high school and/or college bfs.
Most women want their families to have a very low number in their heads (less than 5), so they won't be posting every dude they have "dated" or had an almost serious relationship with.I don't anyone that uses social media apart from watching YouTube videos.
Probably when they are happier.
