Partner is on vacation. Is messaging once every couple of days ok?

My partner is on vacation overseas. His plan on using the phone didn't work out like he thought it would so now he can only use Wi-Fi and pay for messages.

I completely get it but feel kind of sad we only get to exchange couple messages every two days or so.

Is me feeling this way justified? Do you justify his actions?

Actions do.
You feeling sad about getting less contact with someone you love then you expected makes total sense.
That doesn't mean anyone has done anything wrong.
So be understanding of the situation and make the best out of it.
Hopefully he'll get a local phone or something.

He's staying at ABNBs and moving every couple of days. Typically ABNBs don't offer Wi-Fi access.
