Why does she think this? Is it because you've never told her otherwise? If you don't say anything, then yea, she will probably *assume* it's just friends. Not saying anything is a quick route to the friend zone, which can be very hard to escape from.

So if you haven't said anything that's the first step.

You can't have it both ways. If you already have feelings for her, it's very unlikely that you can just turn it off. You will never be satisfied with just being friends. If this also means not looking for someone else, then you are throwing away important months or years of your life that could be used looking for someone who returns your feelings.

Some guys can move on and look for someone else, while remaining friends with a crush. But most guys can't do that. If you are in the majority. then you have to forget about her and forget about the idea of remaining friends.

Don't think that being friends with her is an acceptable substitute for what you really want. It's not, and deep inside you know that. Sooner or later she will find someone else, and you'll end up being very hurt. Don't set yourself up for that hurt.

But start by telling her how you feel if you haven't done it already.

My late maternal grandparent's had a gap between their ages my grandma was 13 years older than my grand-dad, and they made an awesome family sadly they all passed away my mom, uncle, etc. it's part of life but follow your dreams on what you want to do.

I think that not everyone would agree because of the age gap but honestly it depends on both of you. Try to know her more and find out whether or not you really want to be with this person and decide from there. She’ll probably be thinking the same thing but if she does like you, being the older person is harder to admit to someone younger. You might have to be the one to say something once you think the time is right.

I'm 15 years older than my boyfriend and it's working great for us. It's obviously a case by case thing, but an age gap in and of itself doesn't at all mean the relationship won't work out
