Why do some men introduce a woman to his whole family & go on holidays etc if he’s not that serious about them?

I often brought my girlfriends to family get togethers. It didn't mean that I had plans for marriage or anything. She was just my dating partner. My family didn't act like it was a big deal. They were just happy to meet my friend.

I always took my girlfriend along when I was going to see friends, too. I just liked being with her.

That’s one thing I don’t exactly understand about men, if you’re not dating for marriage and mother of your children potential then what’s the point.

I had girlfriends from the time I was 16. Marriage and kids weren't on my radar.

As a heterosexual man I always thought women were lovely, cute and charming. I also really liked sex. My girlfriends liked masculine qualities and were also interested in sex. So sex within an infatuated, monogamous relationship was the number one reason for being in a relationship.

I preferred in an exclusive relationship with a girlfriend. We would be best friends. We would hang out, go places and do things together, hold hands, walk with our arms around each other, kiss and cuddle.

I didn't have a ticking biological clock or feel any urgency to have kids.

I didn't start thinking about marriage until I was in my early 30s. But even then, I needed to be with a woman for a long time before I could be sure that she was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

I’m talking about a man in his 40 s here though so imagine it’s a bit different.

My comment still applies. What's wrong with taking your girlfriend along?

Just seems like a waste of time, the other persons of not your own.

I hear you. He obviously doesn't think he is wasting his time. But if you feel like he is wasting your time, maybe he's not the right guy for you.

I think men can be a bit dense sometimes in the kindest way, I don’t think he’s quite over his ex and is trying to force it.

So they don’t have to do it alone. People do get lonely and want someone to do these things with, without having to commit. For an older man too, if he’s been married or in serious relationships before, he may never want to do that again, but does appreciate companionship. I think that’s why sugar babies exist, they aren’t going to give him those perks and get nothing in return. If there’s no relationship out of it then cool, pay her for her time rather than waste it.
