I think more so everyone should treat people rationally. People-pleasers and depressed people, for example, will treat others with extra care because that's what they themselves would like to receive, but other people may not desire and value such treatment, so miscommunication happens because everybody has different idea of how they want to be treated.

Best way is to rationally communicate your needs and feelings and ask people you're interacting with about their needs and feelings and see if you can come up with any solutions, and it's ok if you don't come up with any resolution. You have to be willing to accept that outcome too and maybe look elsewhere to fulfill your needs.
