Opinions on people who wish to be treated equally, but then don't treat others equally?

Wanted to know people's opinions on people who speak about treating people equally but then do the opposite or complain they have been treated badly but then do the same to others.

I recently met a mix of feminists running a small business, with a lot of lgbt clients, they had a few lgbt employees as well, non binary/trans. We got to speaking and they explained a lot of the hardships they went through including not being included within groups or given opportunities and said about some bad experiences they had with some men and how they are proud to be female/some lgbt only and would never employ a straight male man, but then they said they treat everyone equally but said they wouldn't employee due to male men being more prone to sexual offences and its what they have seen from previous jobs. Most of their social media posts ended up being mostly horror stories about men, reposts about them doing this and that. See if it was a safe space it would be different but treating all male straight men the same... and posting comments directed to only male men made me think otherwise.

I get that a lot of the lgbt community don't get treated nice and it needs to change but I honestly believe singling out male men then also isn't a great way to improve the situation. We should all get along regardless of gender, doesn't matter who we are but it should be equal employment and equal treatment with no judgement.

Has anyone else had experiences where someone has said they are treating people equally then singling out? Also any opinion on the situation I faced earlier?
