What do you think is the reason why relationships in teens barely work out?

Because teen relationships form on teen mindsets. While the sole focus as a teen is going to school, hanging with friends or prom, it drastically switches when you leave high school. And of course, you become an adult and your true mindset starts to form.

Teens are very sheepish. They all tend to want to do the same thing all of the time. Becoming an adult reveals people’s true mindset in life. While at 16 you could deal with a guy with no goals in life besides video games because he was “cute” at 25 with the same mindset and a little less teenage cuteness he seems like a bummy idiot.

Because they are usually not mature enough to know how to both choose the right partner and make other choices that make the relationship last.

Teenagers haven’t yet fully developed the parts of their brains that have to do with inhibition and emotional regulation, both of which are important in healthy, long-lasting relationships.


It’s similar to asking why so many ships have trouble navigating rocks when their steering wheels/helms are hard for the captain to turn.


There are obviously several other factors like social and emotional intelligence, maturity, and ability/propensity to set and respect one one another’s boundaries, to name a few.


All these things require time and practice to master

Trial and error. Just starting out, you are figuring out what your needs, wants are etc including boundaries.
