Where does jealousy derive from? love or insecurity?

Most of people say that one gets jealous because they have insecurities and they reflect those to their partners. Some say it is because we love our significant other so much we can't take the idea of any other person looking them a bit flirty. What do you think? Are you jealous?

You're 100% right I mean I could walk through a mall with anyone of the girls that I've ever dated and if there was guys headed towards us they would just look her up and down

And I would look at them and smile I will look over to her she would look at me and we would both smile

And as the guys passed I would say she's hot isn't she and just keep walking

Because I know whose hand them holding and I know who that person is and if I felt any different or insecure in any way then why would I be with her if I could not trust her

There's been many times where I've been at a party with a girlfriend and guys will be talking to her and I know she can handle herself that's one of the reasons why we're together way more recent than that but no if I get jealous that means I'm insecure if I'm insecure why am I with that person they would have to be a reason why I was insecure and if they don't give you a reason for it then why are you doing it because all you're going to do is cause trouble between the both of you somewhere down the road and that's just wrong if you're insecure if you don't believe in yourself then you don't believe in her or him depending on which way you're looking at that yeah you're right

Jealousy has nothing to do with the other person. You can make that person's life so miserable they leave you, but someone will replace them, and you'll still feel jealous. Jealousy is a statement about insecurity, not love. It's saying "I feel inadequate to offer you what you want, deserve, or what I'd like to offer you" or "I feel inadequate to acquire what this other person acquired."

The only way to eliminate jealousy is to address your own insecurities. Are they realistic? If not, get rid of them. If they are realistic, determine what you can do to address and resolve those insecurities. Set up a plan, stay on task, and measure your progress. Don't keep pointing your finger at others to legitimize not taking care of yourself.

Before I endeavor to answer your question, I think it's important to differentiate between the two basic types of jealousy -- good jealousy and bad, potentially destructive jealousy.

I firmly believe that good jealousy is a vital part of any female/male relationship, and the vast majority of women should make a concerted effort to make their boyfriends and husbands jealous as often as possible, which is best accomplished by talking about, flirting or, if the guy's ego can handle it, dating other guys, to drive her male partner crazy, to ensure that he'll never take her for granted.

Bad jealousy, on the other hand, is an unpredictable, out of control emotional outburst that must be dealt with quickly and decisively if it should arise.

Men have a biological need to ensure paternity because if they don't they probably won't get to reproduce or will end up being cucked and proving for another man's offspring. Calling that "insecure" is just misandrist shaming language. I would argue the men who are truly insecure are the men who let their girl engage in promiscuous behavior because they don't think they can replace her.

I dont consider myself jealous person. If someone does the shady crap i interpret that as she "test the borders" what she can get away with and set precedent.

For example. Right now i have situation where i am intrested in someone and it looks like she is too. But i suspect she might lie to me about some things. Is that me being insecure and is that ok to lie and set that precedent in early stage? ... 🤷

It's an instinctive reaction. We want to pass on our genes with those of our chosen partner and we don't want another guy taking our action. But I've noticed that the most jealous guys are insecure and sweaty.
