I live with my boyfriend and he’s 26 and I’m 22. All he does is play video games, he will be up till 3am playing video games and I will try and speak to him but he’ll be on COD or on the headset and I’m not the type of girl to keep bugging him to come off it and pay attention to me because if he wants to then he will. Or I’ll say can you turn this off now I see u play it all the time and he says one more game and stays on there for agies. Sometimes I’ll take myself to bed to see if he notices and he dosent notice. He’s on it 24/7. I know it’s better than him going out but when he’s on it it’s like he can’t pay attention to me and can’t multi task. He is alwaysssss on it. Or after work when he’s finished after a long day I wanna talk to him but he goes n playstation till early hours of the morning and I can’t stay awake till then, I do love him but it annoys me? Am I over reacting? He’s on it all the time. I wouldn’t even mind if it was just sometimes or if he let me play with him but he’s always on his headset

This is what happens to couples that stop growing together you want to keep growing you want to keep expanding in life one step in front of the other

And he is going to put the brakes on himself he doesn't want to grow he doesn't want to evolve

And soon one day you will say you had enough and you will walk out the door

Or he will choose his headset his fake friends and the television to keep him company and live in that world instead of here on this planet with you one day he's going to have to make a choice so are you

When you get tired of paying all the bills making all the decisions and supporting him because you know you're better than that and you know you want what you want and that's just to keep growing and becoming the person you've always dreamed of.

It's really sad that he won't take the time to step out of that television that fake world and look where you're coming from and acknowledge that you both wanted the same thing at one time but everything's changed now I'm sorry that you have to go through this I'm pretty sure it happens quite often from the questions that are asked on here but yeah you're going to have to make a choice one day you can either just keep allowing it to happen or you can make a choice that will one day make him make a choice

Communication is key your needs should be met to they are valid tell him you want to spend more time with him off the game if he doesn't respect that and want to spend more time with you then probably best ditch him for someone who actually wants to spend time with you.

I wouldn't hold any hope for this to change. What you can however do is finding someone, that ISn't addicted to video games.

Playing for a few hours is fine. But neglecting everything else is not.
