Neither.
For example, if I were the person in the image who wanted to be an astronaut, I'd ask how to become one, not whether or not I should become one, or whether or not I really want to become one.
Philosophy and examining other's perspectives are pointless distractions.
Education and practice to achieve your passions is what actually matters in life advice.
@TheSpaceGnome - sage words of advice.
Philosophy is the same ideas just stated in different words for 3000 years, about as long as mankind has the written word. I am in secondary education, and I fear for our future because 'every child is left behind'. All the while the competing nations are upp'ing the ante and forcing their students to take what are deemed difficult courses. We are SO FAR BEHIND. Trust me, it's a cleverly disguised plot to destroy the west by knee capping civilization. Crumble from within without strain from without, all the while whistling while walking down your own highway to doom.
Don't believe me, just look at AOC, or Britney Spears. Dumber than a box of rocks and yet people will believe them before they believe those educated people who have studied that issue their whole lives. AOC and Britney Spears are ALL about self-agrandizement, promoting themselves to the detriment of everybody else. Wake up people.
@FellowTraveler Its always been that way, and every new generation is always 90% idiots, 9.9% smart people, and 0.1% geniuses. Every generation days we are getting dumber and dumber, but in reality, everyone is getting smarter and smarter, but you can't notice it because the majority always lags so far behind the smartest.
Its unfortunate, and even the most brilliant minds haven't figured out how to make everyone else smarter.
No child left behind only became a law because so many children were getting left behind. They were already too dumb to do most intellectual jobs, but because we needed more doctors and scientists to tend to the ever growing population, society lowered the bar on graduating highschool, and when that wasn't enough to fill the empty slots needed, they lowered the bar on graduating college.
But diplomas and degrees are worth nothing if not held to the highest of standards, so we have 2 teirs of professionals in every feild now, those who are actual professionals, and those who are stand in morons doing jobs they mentally aren't qualified for. Simply because the dumb population is growing much faster than the intellectual population.
Despite all of that, a retarded person today is a genius compared to the smartest person 500 years ago.
@thespacegnome - you have some very cogent arguments on this matter which unfortunately for the rest of the US and world is far too TRUE!
@FellowTraveler Unfortunately.
I'd love to be wrong about this one day, but I doubt that will happen.
i'm usually a very independent person i easily get scared but i'm bold for me lofe is never boring 😁 but there are people i find to be smaer so and it's rgem who i wanna ask wuestions loke what to do because i'm interested on what they have to sat
Everyone knows more about something than everyone else... even if it is what's going on inside his or her head. Therefore, we know everyone has something to offer. My question is whether you're seeking information to make a more informed decision or whether you just blindly accept whatever anyone else might say.
For instance, people on this site tend to ask questions like "How can I get my toxic ex-boyfriend to take me back?" The asker knows the ex is toxic but wants others to tell her how she can get the ex to want her again and tell her she's right for wanting to do so. If she's thinking for herself, the question becomes irrelevant. That's like saying "I want a long healthy life, so what foods in my diet should I add cyanide to in order to lengthen my life?"
What would be the likelihood of anyone on this site telling you what your favorite movie is? You'll probably say it's slim to nil, yet people are constantly asking what's going on in a specific person's head... without bothering to ask the person they claim they want to better understand.
People come on this site to ask how to get a particular feature working on their computer rather than going to a forum that specializes in helping people better understand their computer (like windowsbbs. com). Where are you more likely to get the knowledge you seek? From the source or the experts, or from people who know little to nothing about the subject?
I've posed my question to better understand the thought process of people who seek knowledge from others who are unlikely to have the answer they seek.
@caring__1 - I concur with your assessment of some of the advice here. I try to be as clear and concise as possible, but alas there will be those who either don't understand, can't or won't relate. I HEAR you on the simple question, simple answer phenomena. Most of us know that relationships are NOT as simple as outlined on this blog.
Broaden my perspective.
