What does it feel like to feel mature and grown up?

I’m fairly confident but I don’t feel grown up. Not really. Never have. More like the Bridget Jones character from the movies.

This is a very good question. I mean at 20 years old, I felt like I was all grown up. And compared to my 16-year-old self I seriously was much more "grown". By the age of 28 I realized how much I was not grown up at 20... but if you were to tell me at 20 i was not grown, I would call you a fool.

But at 28 I know my 20-year-old self was a fool. At 47 I can say I was not fully grown until about age 32. But even then, I am 47, and there was so much I still did not know at 32 that I definitely know now.

But at 47, I still feel like I am 20 years old physically, or still able to do all things I could do at 20... so I do not feel old... but yet I still feel I have a lot of things to still to learn.

So, what does it mean to be feel mature? Because I feel just as mature today at 47, then I though at 28 about being 20... but does one ever really stop learning, growing or maturing?

Who is really more mature, and even if you are more mature or fully mature, does that mean you are better off or more stressed out?

@Malwi93 Not sure I follow you... fundamental piont was we never stop maturing. Whose to day whose mature and whose not.

At 20 I thought I was grown... at 28 I realize I wasn't, but 32 I started to think maybe... and at 47 I know I am now grown... bit who gets to say who is mature and who isn't... do ever stop maturinging or growing?

So who is ever really grown or not?

I don't know because I don't judge people by nature or immature. Maybe I'll get irritated by them but they can do what they want

I feel like I've learned so much in life but there's so much I don't know and there's a lot I've lost the discipline of enacting in my everyday life. Mature? Its alright I guess. Where I'm at right now, I don't find myself arguing with people so much, I don't find myself being so angry all the time. I feel like I've been dragged through so much mud that I just understand people a lot better than I used to and with that has come a new level of self awareness for me.

So far as being grown up, it looks like that could go either way. My eyesight in the dark is not as good as I'd like it to be. I guess when I turn 50 or something I should probably figure out some way of making sure I can still drive at night because I vaguely remember my vision being a lot better when I first got my license.

My whole leg from the hip to the ankle is all fucked up from a ton of different surgeries and injuries. I'm mostly built like a tank but my hip has been acting like a little bitch-ass randomly lately so I know that's gonna be fun one day.

My parents told me to be careful not to get an alcohol problem like my other family member did and not being able to see myself with one. Maybe it will enter some realm of possibility if I'm older and walking on it is as painful as I think it's going to be.

It is a good feeling to be grown up, I never liked childhood. I own a nice house I am proud of. I have two daughters I am very proud of. These things make me happy! I am divorced and I am not rich, these things make me less happy.

Sometimes just getting out and mowing the lawn or trimming the trees solved my problems... guess that makes me grown up?

Self awareness. You have high self esteem and a positive perception of yourself. And therefore higher emotional intelligence and the ability to influence others towards a just goal. You are respected because you respect others.

There is no age that this suddenly happens. Some achieve it earlier, some later. Some not in their entire lifetime

I’m only half there, probably wouldn’t be at all if I never had a family to take care of or a home but now I don’t have to be because they are on their own and I don’t own a house anymore so not many responsibilities anymore so I can act like a kid again
