Would you move to the beach and live happily ever after if money was no issue?

I "retired" early at 54 not because I had enough money (which I did) but to take care of my elderly parents. Money is no issue for me but what I found is that I cannot be happy without working on SOMETHING that I make money at. It just makes me feel unproductive and old if I am not doing that. Thankfully I was able to find a lucrative way to use my time and STILL be able to take care of my parents full time until they passed... the last one just months ago. Money is no issue for me and unless there is some kind of economic catastrophe won't be for the rest of my life. But no, I can't stop doing something productive and be happy. It's just not in my soul to be that way. I was born to produce. I will work until I drop.
I lived a half-block from the beach for a year, and while I definitely enjoyed it, in the real world, money is very much an issue. Most beach towns are small, and so are the financial opportunities. The good-paying jobs go to locals exclusively (which makes sense) so if you aren't already wealthy or aren't able to work remotely, then you will almost certainly go into debt to live there.
I'm more of a forest guy anyway.
I grew up two blocks from the Pacific ocean 🌊. I moved from there in 1975. I am 69 and I still miss the ocean big time.
The beautiful sub raises and 🌞 sun sets. Sitting on the sand watching the beautiful sunsets and all of their different colors in them. I miss the sound of the waves come in and out again. That unbelievable smell the oceans give off smell like home. I don't swim either, but going for a long walk along the shore, there's nothing like it. I miss the ocean more than I can say. I would love living near the ocean and would do it again if I could.
🌊
no, i would prefer a home in the woods

There are many factors here that should be considered:
LOL are you the one everyone is pissed at for always using chatGPT? LmaO
I don't think I can be happy without a purpose. If I had more money than I knew what to do with I would throw myself in artistic projects like making movies or starting a rock band or something like that which involves work but can be done stress free if I know that I don't need to live off of the earnings
what's wrong with the beach? xD the way you asked maked it seem like it's meant to be a hard sell.
Usually beach islands are not near huge cities of employment. Also beach houses are usually bought for vacationing not living all year round.
I mean most jobs can be done remotely these days. But if money isn't an issue, then iguess a job isn't either in that scenario XD so I'd definitely go and live there
Yeah me too and if you do have a job that is remote and can afford a beach house etc more power to ya for sure.
In this economy, I could probably not even afford one at age 60 if I had made 3k after tax a month continually since my 20th birthday
I don't mind visiting the beach, but it's not something that floats my boat. I like a woodland setting with access to rocky shorelines. Similar to where I am now.
Only if there were some high elevation areas nearby. I like the cold.
Probably not. We love the beach, but where we are is ideal for every day life.
Yes, especially if I had a beautiful woman with me.
No. I met a guy who retired and bought a house on the beach. You could see the beach from his living room. He said after a while you no longer see the water.
I would rather just travel there on occasion and visit the beach.
Yes, I sure would. I would have done it years ago.
No. Have you seen any houses or cars that are by the beach? That salty air will destroy anything in a short time.
Just look at houses for sale in hawaii. Some are only a few years old and look worn out.
i will live within a short drive of a beach but an actual place on the beach? no thanks. during severe storms or a hurricane it wouldn’t be so happily ever after.
Absolutely. I just retired at 56 earlier this year and have been traveling looking for just such a place. I haven't found what I am looking for yet but make no mistake I will.
Where do I sign up?
Coach, please stop offering me options that I could never have 🥲
No, I would move to the mountains and live happily ever after
My cousin is already doing it. She went to high school and college there. Her father is rich and he bought her a condo
Hawaii
Nope. Nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there. Had enough of hurricanes growing up.
Nah.
Not a fan of the beach and can’t swim.
Probably not, I like the beach but don't want to live there
No, because the beach is boring after about an hour.
I could, but I am more of a woods, mountain stream/lake kind of guy.
That describes me pretty well.
Thailand 😍
No
i like home in woods near a mountain near a waterfall
I'd have a house within walking distance to the beach
No I mean it's nice to visit a beach occasionally, but I can't imagine living there
Oh yessss happily but on a nude beach though
Nah I'm more of a penthouse type of dude
No, I’m not a beach person. I like mountains and forests much more

The beach is widely overrated
That would be ideal.
