Yeah, I think you totally can be gaslit online even by strangers. Social media makes it real easy since there's less personal context.

Let's say you get into some disagreement on a message board or something. The other person starts denying things ever happened the way you said, twisting your words around, questioning your memory or perception. Over time that could mess with your head, even if you don't know them IRL.

Or like, if there's some Twitter feud and one person just relentlessly insists their version is right even when it's clearly not. Constantly hammering their narrative could maybe warp your sense of reality a bit, ya know?

It takes some real manipulative skill to gaslight from a distance without any IRL rapport. But social media lets people hide behind screens. Anonymity makes it easier to pile on someone relentlessly without consequence too.

So yeah, I'd say stay on guard against anyone who just refuses to see another viewpoint online, regardless of if you actually know them or not. Question everything, trust your gut, and don't let strangers control your sense of self! Gotta protect your mental well-being wherever you are on the internet.
