Because this is a personal thing I’ll turn on the anonymous option.
People who decided not to have kids. How did you rational this choice?

Mostly, just never wanted kids or felt maternal. That isn't the best start to parenthood if you're just "meh" to "gross" about the concept of it.
Then strongly supported by family and personal medical history, mental illness, and high rate of birth complications.
And finally, ethics and morals. If I had a kid and regretted it, I would suffer, the kid would suffer, my partner would suffer. If I don't have a kid and regret it, I'm the only one suffering (because I wouldn't date someone who wants kids). And I could fix that by adopting.
Plus I also have friends and family with kids. Every time I hang with them, it validates my choice for me.
Kids has yet to fit anywhere in the plans I have. It’s just not the role I am meant to fill.

Why do you feel you have to reason your choice? As long as it's your decision, no one has a say.
Since when do we have to justify that?
I just stumbled across this.
