That is certainly a possibility. It's a situation I don't wish on any spouse. However, if it is determined that she's cheated, there should be no leniency. It should end. It should have ended before the infidelity occurred. That would've been the right thing to do on her part.

The only situation I could sort of see, to a degree, is if a man is married and knows he'll be crucified in the divorce and he'll lose tons of money and she'll get alimony as her reward for her evil crime, she'll get custody of their kids and he'll only see them occasionally.

I can, sort of understand, if he keeps her in TITLE ONLY, never touches her again, has nothing to do with her and puts of a facade around the kids, he opens the marriage and has other women or one woman on the side and they are co-parents and roommates. Doing that to keep access to the kids and to keep the assets he worked for. But he could never love her again or ever touch her again, she is a diseased, virus.

I don't think the guy should worry about whether she still respects him, he should be worried about respecting himself.

I think once someone crosses that line in the relationship it's over. It's the most disrespectful thing someone can do to hurt someone they supposedly loved/cared about.

That is correct. When cheating happens, respect is gone. Going back to her… makes him not worth her time/respect/love… so hope people learn to build and value those who are in their lives before it’s too late.

i don't think this is true as a fact. i think most people want to be with people they respect. so if cheating leads to a lack of respect then i wouldn't think that most would even go back to the person they cheated on

I think this is probably true. In fact, if a woman cheats on a man she didn't respect him or care for him in the first place. At least not enough to not do it. A man that takes a woman back after she's cheated on him is a fool.
