One. In his defense though, he objectively knows I'm not a threat, and he doesn't stop us from hanging out, he's just been conditioned to think any guy hanging out with his girlfriend is a threat.

Easy to see why 😉 Did your relationship ever cross the line? Do you know and interact with the girlfriend so that the relationship with your friend is more normalized and she can get comfortable with you being around, or has it caused some distance with your friend?

Its a tough one. The more distance between you and her the worse it’s going to be for him. I mean she doesn’t need to be your friend, but if he has to ghost you when they’re together, it reinforces that you’re a threat to her, like he’s hiding something. He’s got to be able to say, ‘I was talking to Jasmin about…’ or went for lunch, or whatever, without her going apeshit. Ever attended a party or large social event together where she can see how you interact together but still giving him the opportunity to be all over her, so she knows she has attention and he isn’t going to run off with you? Just be careful not to do anything that could be remotely construed as flirting, and try not to look too hot… 🤔😉

I have lost several good female friends because the guy they end up dating is jealous or has no self esteem or trust and causes too many dramas

No. My best friend is female, but anyone who sees us together for more than a few minutes can tell we are not that way with each other. We behave like siblings.
