Whenever I ask my boyfriend this he replies with the same question back to me. Why?

Why do you need so much reassurance? I think the question has become redundant for him so he throws it back at you. Like if something is wrong, communicate it rather than repeatedly asking if he loves you. It should be shown through his actions anyway.
