Even if i was on the greatest of terms with my parents, i wouldn't need him to ask them for permission. What we have is between us. Their say doesn't matter

You’re wrong. A Christian just needs permission from the father to take his daughter. The Bible even says you can take a girl forcefully as long as you pay her father 50 shekels compensation
