Is there a way to have a "domestic relationship" but, still call it a marriage?

Sometimes I wonder if my fear of getting married, is just the idea of everything that goes along with being in one. Which, is, essentially, just a domestic relationship, on steroid. Just like friends with benefits, is just a friendship on steroids (a relationship, without the relationship "label").

So, while I would like to live with a girl and show I can be committed to her, but, still actually call it a marriage, just not actually be "in a marriage"

Dude in some states there is common law marriage.. Which means if you live with her for a period of time, you're automatically considered married. In some countries, new Zealand comes to mind, if you're dating her, and she has slept in your home more than once the law considers you married. In all of those situations it requires divorce and she gets half of your stuff. Thank God common law marriage is not a thing where I live.

in my family, some have actually married while others simply just live together for a long time.
