we do it all the time at the firehouse, depending on who your partner is we go to the store, sandwich shop where ever.
We spend 24 hours or longer together and I have never thought anything other than they are my partner.
You tend to get close and develop a bond because of the job and you rely on each other but other than that nothing else.
I'm not saying nothing has never happened between people at a station, but not all that often, I have not.

I don't think I would mind as long as everything is open and transparent. I have male friends also, and he would have to live with that :D
