Start by actively listening to her. Ask her how she feels, say phrases like “I can see why that would make you feel upset, I would be too” etc. I know most guys have the tendency to want to solve problems, giving solutions or advice but in this case try to hold back on those unless she specifically ask you for solutions. Otherwise just offer emotional support, hug her, rub her back and actively listen while she’s venting.
I try actively listening but she doesn't open up to me anymore but every time she says she's not in a good mood I try to make her open up
It’s okay just give her time. Just tell her that she can vent to you and you’ll hear her out no matter what, tell her that you’re there for her in case she needs a listening ear. Tell her that you want to be the person that she turns to whenever she’s feeling down and you’ll try your best to cheer her up.
Okay thanks for your help
download an audible or read a book on emotional intelligence. you’re young; this muscle needs building
Any books you'd recommend?
The first thing I would do is ask her how I can improve.
Well I did ask her but she's not opening up to me
