Is it normal for people to send kiss emojis as friends?

So my fiance is from Spain and the other day while she was on her phone her male friend sent her a message with a kiss emoji at the end. I was very upset and she told me there is nothing to worry about as its common to do that in their country.

I just want to know if this is normal behavior as i am a little bit concerned?

If your fiancé is from Spain you should accept her cultural differences.
I completely understand where you’re coming from. I wouldn’t want my wife to have her guy friends sending her kiss emojis either. She isn’t from Spain though which makes your case entirely different. That is literally a part of her culture.


If you trust and love her there shouldn’t be a breach in your relationship. It’s just unfortunate for you that in this case it will tug your feelings a bit. Be sure to communicate that with her but she shouldn’t change her culture for you.

I think it all depends on culture. For me I only send kiss emojis to my girlfriend or the one I am in love with. Because I don't kiss friends, if I'm meeting up with my guy friend, that I haven't seen in a while, I'm not gonna hug and kiss him lol, same way if it was a female friend I haven't seen in a while I'm not gonna kiss her either. I believe kissing in any form should be reserved for romantic intentions in my opinion.

If 😘 this is the emogi you are talking about, it's normally we send to our friends. Sometimes to male friends too. It's not meant to be romantic or anything else for us. I just hv a habit of sending it just as a symbol of love , a friendly love ; nothing like romantic and boyfriend girlfriend kisses. No! this doesn't mean that for us at least. It's quite a normal emogi usually send by a lot of people to their friends as a token of love for the friends only.

Curious where you are from? I am in the UK. My crush sends me that emoji a lot. Usually like 3 or 4 like this 😘😘😘😘. I don't send it to guys unless I really like them. Or if I like something a guy says or does a lot.. and I mean a lot.. I might send one. But to me it definitely has a flirty undertone. Otherwise I would send 😍 to indicate I love something from someone but without the extra kissy flirty bit so it's a lesser indication of like. I also can't think of any case I would send kissy face emoji to my friend? So I can't speak culturally.. but in this situation I would except the guy sending it might be a culturally thing or maybe "likes" the guys girlfriend. But in no way should she ever send one back! That wd be my rule on it! Guys crush on me on my snap and send me all sorts of emojis. That's upto them expressing their feelings. So I should express mine back. As in not flirty if I'm not flirting!

It’s something cultural. I’m from Spain also and here is so common send kisses and hugs to friends. It does not means nothing further except a way to waive people when you have some friendship relations
