How long does it take a guy or a girl to come to conclusion about their feelings?

I know guys and girls are different. When they have feelings they need time to really understand what they feel. As do women but in all respect how long does it take women and men to really come back down to earth and smell the roses about how they really feel towards the opposite sex?

I don't know if it's true of many other men but it was never a mystery to me what I feel. I seem far better at knowing that than many women I meet who seem confused even about what they feel and need to talk it out with others.

That might be why many of us guys don't feel the need to talk about what we feel as much. At least for me, I never understood the point since I already know exactly how I feel about most subjects.

The difficult thing for which I might need more time is to know what to think about something, not how to feel about it but what to think about it. For that, I usually need to gather a lot of data before I start to become confident about the probability of my hypotheses being correct.

For example, even when I first started dating my wife, I knew exactly how I felt about her. I wanted to hang out with her, wanted to kiss her, have fun, have sex, see her naked, touch her boobs, grab her butt. There was no mystery there whatsoever about what I felt.

What I wasn't sure about and why I needed to date her a lot to become committed is whether or not we can get along as well as we did the whole time being friends as we could being lovers, and later as husband and wife.

For that, I needed to gather a lot of evidence to know if my hypothesis that we would make an excellent husband and wife has a high probability of being correct. So I needed to spend a lot of time with her, especially time when we were both really stressed out, to determine if my hypothesis had a high chance of being correct. Yet I knew exactly how I felt about her the entire time.
